It is no exaggeration to say that Dr Nathan Haas and his team changed my life! My front teeth had become very discoloured – one tooth turned almost brown after I’d had a root canal on it many years before. I had stopped smiling to hide my ugly teeth, and that was a disaster both personally and professionally!
I was very nervous about having crowns put on my teeth, and had been putting off the major work. I finally plucked up courage to go to see Dr Nathan, and it was the best decision I could have made. After talking over with Dr Nathan what I wanted to achieve I decided to have crowns on my four upper front teeth.
I will never be nervous of dental procedures again! It was a terrific experience (yes, I know that sounds like an odd thing to say about a dental procedure, but it’s true!). Dr Nathan and his terrific team were extremely gentle and considerate of my comfort. Everything was explained to me, and knowing what was happening lessened my anxiety. The atmosphere was caring and relaxing, and I felt confident and safe. I didn’t have any pain at all. I had temporary crowns fitted, and then the permanent crowns. What a difference! I felt so much better, having my smile back – and looking better than it ever had. My self-confidence received a huge boost.
I’m now a regular patient of Dr Nathan and wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. My regular dental health is superbly taken care of, and I’m planning on having more cosmetic work done soon. Thanks so much Dr nathan and team!

After researching current ‘state of the art’ gum restoration procedures, I consider myself fortunate to have found Dr. Nathan Haas in Toronto. The professional and caring experience begins the moment you enter Stonebrook Dental to meet the clinic staff. Although I definitely had a period of discomfort for about the first week following the grafting procedure, at no time either during the procedure or the recovery did I experience pain and I chose not to take the painkillers prescribed. Throughout the consultation, the actual procedure & recovery phases, Dr. Haas has shown himself to be highly professional, patient and a truly caring health care provider. At the end of the day, with healing nearly complete, I am pleased to note a remarkable improvement in my gum lines.

I am honoured to write about my experience as a new client of Dr. Nathan Haas. From the moment I stepped into the Centre, I was completely taken aback by the genuinely kindhearted disposition of everyone on staff.
I remember on my first visit to the Centre I was greeted by Monika with a warm smile and a handshake. While such gestures of kindness and respect seem rare nowadays, especially from medical professionals and their staff, it didn’t end there.
I will never forget when Monika gave me a tour of the Centre, as if I was visiting a friend who had recently purchased a new home. This particular practice of hospitality, I would have to say, captures the true essence of the philosophy that, I believe, underlies Dr. Haas’ practice. Clients in Dr. Haas’ care are treated like guests ~ with care, compassion and empathy. In fact, I would also have to say, they are treated like family ~ who you are, beyond being a client, is very important to everyone at the Centre.
‘Who I am’ was honoured by Sarah when she took my pulse and asked me, on her own initiative and interest, if I engage in athletic sports of some sorts because my heart rate was very good. During my cleaning she dialogued with me on the topic of running and physical activity, something I am very passionate about. Her speaking with me about the topic, sharing her own experiences with me, really honoured who I am. This is only one example of how clients are treated like family at Haas’ Dental Centre.
Even Dr. Nathan Haas has treated me like a family member. Never have I had a dentist ask me how I was making out while he was filling a cavity for me. In fact, I have never experienced a Dentist accommodating my need for a short break from having kept my mouth open for some time. A Dentist telling you "you’re doing really great, hang in there," and encouraging you "only about 3 minutes more" and even sharing with you the intricacies of the medical work that is being done on you, in language that is so understandable, is completely unheard of, unimaginable and really uncommon, to say the least. Dr. Nathan Haas is a simply amazing dentist ~ truly and most definitely so.
But the gestures of concern for you as a client, or shall I say person, go beyond the physical space of the Centre. I remember Nadira calling me the day after having had my teeth whitened to see how I was making out, how my gums were. Not only did she do a fabulous job, she even called me to see if I was alright. She made me smile in more ways than one! I was impressed!
And Kathy, she is like a big sister, someone you can laugh with and make a fool our of yourself in front and she will still think you are cool. I remember on one visit, after having my cavities filled, I needed to rinse out my mouth. There I was with water in my mouth. As I began to swoosh it around, spurts of water were flying out of my mouth, in almost all directions. Embarrassed as I was, Kathy instanteously realized that it was because my mouth was still frozen and that I had no control over my jaw muscles. All the etiquette was thrown out of the water, or shall I say with the water! Geez I was so embarrassed but Kathy eased my embarrassment. The entire incident though was quite hilarious. Together we burst into laughter, as she passed me napkins. She could have kept a straight face and expressed discontent over the situation, but rather she told me not to worry, and we laughed together. What a fun personality she has!
No matter what profession you are in, there is one important tenet one should always keep of the utmost importance and that is ~ treat others the way you want to be treated…Such a simple standard of practice, that surely goes a very long way
As a teacher, trying to cover all curriculum expectations under time pressures and constraints can be very challenging. While it is especially crucial to impart children with skill and knowledge so that they can meet success with great confidence, at the end of the day, not ALL children will remember EVERYTHING you taught them. However, ALL children will remember how you treated them. I always ask myself, did I show compassion, did I show love and respect, did I offer praise and enouragement today? If I can answer "yes" to all of these, then I have done my job amazingly. And this is what Dr. Nathan Haas and his staff do!
When I am 70 or so years old, I am not going to remember that Dr. Nathan Haas of 906 Sheppard Ave. West,
Dr. Nathan Haas and his team, provides value-added dental care, simply exemplary. It is dentistry that builds and nurtures relationships with clients based on a simple tenet of treating others the way you want to be treated ~ a best practice of which all professionals, medical or otherwise, should strive!
Thank you, wholeheartedly, and most sincerely,
Anita

I sometimes like to tease my dentist, Dr. Nathan Haas that he is in the wrong profession because he hates to inflict pain-but that is precisely why he is so very good at what he does.
His warm smile and genuine interest in people don’t hurt either, and making visits to his office is a pleasure.
He has beautifully restored not only my smile, but the pride I take in showing it.
The concept of a well run office operating like a highly functional family is alive and well here too. I am warmly welcomed by everyone I see there, with a big smile, from Monika and Cathy, and even a big hug from Nadira.
In my 66 years of life, I have never dreamed that a dental experience could be so comfortable.
Thank you all,
Linda

I had been a long time patient of Dr. Henry Ross. When he retired and you took over his practice, I decided to remain with you. Very much good work had been done on my mouth and I naively thought i’d just be visiting your office regularly for teeth cleaning.
As can happen with time, a serious infection destroyed the root of a tooth and you recommended the insertion of a dental implant. I agreed. The treatment was long, but not difficult for me. You made me feel comfortable throughout the procedure.
When the implant was completed, we waited to be sure it was successful. It was and to my astonishment, I can now barely tell which tooth is the one I was not born with.
Many thanks and sincerely yours,

Dear Dr. Haas,
Just a short note to tell you that I was again very satisfied with my teeth cleaning session. Your hygienist Pilar is not only friendly but more importantly, she is the most thorough hygienist I have ever had. With Pilar I feel that I will keep my original teeth as long as possible.
Thank you again for hiring such competent staff.
Best regards,
Hans

I have been a long time patient of Dr. Nathan Haas. I just wanted to say that he has looked after me so well-I always feel very comfortable talking to him-he makes you feel like family. I wouldn’t even consider receiving dental care from anyone else. Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Sarah-my hygienist and also the office manager. I don’t know what I would have done without her all these years. She is lovely to talk to-extremely personable. After seeing Sarah she always gives you a toothbrush and dental floss. She will suggest different products to use to help me with the upkeep of your dental regime. A big thanks goes out as well to the office staff for being so efficient and friendly.

Receiving the Alloderm gum grafting with Dr. Haas was an excellent choice for both my oral health and appearance. After just three months since the surgery, my gums look full and healthy, and they cover the tooth to give it a youthful appearance. The surgery itself was quite intense. Dr. Hass and Sarah very carefully took the time that was needed to ensure that the grafting was placed properly and that the stitches had correct tension and location. I expected to have a painful surgery as poor dentists still suffer the “painful trip to the dentist” stereotype, but the surgery was in fact painless. Other than some slight discomfort about having my mouth open for a good while, I believe that Dr. Haas and Sarah made a great team by ensuring that I was comfortable and talking me through the whole procedure. They even let me squeeze in a short cap nap!
In the immediate days following the surgery I experienced some swelling in my cheek and some discomfort with eating. This discomfort passed soon enough and I was very careful about using the medicated mouth wash every day as prescribed. I also rinsed often with saltwater – something my parents passed on as a home remedy to prevent infection. There was some coordination needed to both get my nutrients and eat soft foods for six weeks, but that was an opportunity to get creative with my diet: booster juice for breakfast, blended fruits and yoghurt, fantastic blended soups such as butternut squash and all green veggies soup, garlic and parsley mashed potatoes with lots of butter, meatloaf with ketchup, roasted sweet potatoes and carrots with olive oil, pasta with pink sauce and fresh grated romano cheese, arroz con leche for dessert…and the list goes on.
I’m looking forward to completing the grafting work on the rest of my gums, and I’m grateful to have a dentist like Dr. Haas to perform the procedure.
Jennifer
